I got a macro lens for my birthday last January, and I really haven't used it that much, so I decided to take it over to the park today. I started taking pictures of some gingko leaves and then noticed this little red spider on one of the leaves. I wish the spider was a bit sharper, but it was windy out and really difficult to keep the little bugger in focus. I'm looking forward to using the lens more often now.

love macros ... love insects to photograph .. love spiders for the same reason .. excellent colours and the shadow is great .. you have the same lens that i have .. its a fantastic lens .. (i only have two lenses, so i'm not the worlds greatest judge tho ).. !!! ..
and its a total buggar if that wind comes up when you're trying to get a very close-up shot .. you've done well to get this in the difficult conditions .. :)

Looks like a wonderful lens. I'm always having difficulty taking outside macros when there's wind. I like the shadow of the spider, larger than the spider it self.

Love how the leaves fan out from the corner of the image, and the little red of the spider draws my eye right to the shadow, which is my favorite part!! Funny how the shadow looks a lot scarier than the spider itself :-)

Eeeeeew. I don't do spiders, so having him in soft focus is just fine with me. I do dig his shadow and the light through the leaf. 8)

Wow! That looks awesome. It brings those leaves in for such a striking depth of field. I want a macro lens so badly! When I see pictures like this. . .it makes me want one even MORE!

I just love that shadow of the bug on the leaf. Such a pretty shaped leaf too. We don't have those here, so I'm always a great admirer of that particular plant.
