Photographer’s Notes

I’ve been waiting all week for a newsworthy event in Seattle to photograph journalistically. Sadly (or maybe gladly) none have occurred. So, I fell back on the strategy of media everywhere … I made up some news. In truth, the Space Needle is completely safe in high winds, and it’s not closed. But if it closed, it would be very bad for Seattle’s tourist trade. Hence, it would be entirely newsworthy here in Seattle, literally front page news. Sorry if this looks a little drab & dingy ... but it's realistic photojournalism ... Seattle is a bit drab & dingy this time of year.

Looks like a good stock shot to use with an article such as that indicated by the title - and a good way to incorporate the gray of the day you chose to shoot. Well framed in camera.

For me, it's an average photo of the Seattle skyline. There's nothing in it to make it pop or standout from similar photos.

I think this is a good shot, but it looks like there could have been some slight adjustment on your exposure to make the photo a little more crisp. Other than that it have nice composition.

Nice urban landscape, but doesn't live up to the title!

Having been atop the needle and the awesome view associated with such a trip, I agree it would be a great loss. Very nice job. A little dark (Gray) but then it is Seattle. You dont see much of the Sun.

Along with many others in this challenge, this seems to be a bit of a shoe-horn in. That said, given Minimal editing, you have got a well composed urban landscape with some good depth.

Hmmm looks like a bit of a shoe horn for me, its a nice enough photo but lacks a bit of contrast, did you shoot through glass for this?
