 I had my husband hold a hose out in the sun and spray a gentle mist of water to manufacture a rainbow. I don't know the last time I saw an actual rainbow! I zoomed in on the mist in order to make this photo more abstract then cropped for final output. I tweaked the colors with curves and boosted the saturation/contrast. I dodged/burned a few areas and added a softening filter to take the edge off the drops. This is probably too abstract for this site, but all the background elements in our yard were too distracting...

Pure rainbow with no distraction -- a beautiful abstract and exactly on target for the challende. I'm pleased to learn that this is a real rainbow, even if from a garden hose. That makes me feel even better about the high score I gave it. Sorry to see the ranking, which is much lower than I expected, even given DPC's reputation for undervaluing abstracts and less than crysal sharp images.

I think the frame is too heavy, but otherwise this is an appealing abstract.

I think this is beautiful. You are probably voter-doomed, but for me this works. It works very well.

the softness of the image works pretty well but without a main subject I really am not all that interested here

This would make a good background element...or wrapping paper. I like the pastel rainbow colors. I'm curious as to what this would look like without that strong black border.

Pretty shot. Having a subject in the foreground would have made it more interesting and would better direct the viewer's eye.
