i found this spider on our bathroom floor last night which in my ignorance i thought was a huntsman .. anyway i cant see anything, just about, without thinking of photographing it .. obviously i was thinking of the macro challenge but none of the photographs i took were good enough in my opinion ..
i got a plastic container with a lid and put the spider inside with a bit'v water thinking i'd get something better today .. i didnt think he'd escape like the wood beetle did .. but in the morning he was gone .. they must be very strong for their size ..
this was taken with the camera flash before i put him in the container ..
very simple process boosted the white tiles with adjustment layer in selective colour .. a touch of lucisart to give a bit'v contrast and sharpness .. cloned out some stray hairs ..

This is a phenominal macro - I'm with Scalvert on this one - you should have entered it! Though how you got one of these guys to stay still long enough to take this good of a shot, I'll never know. Awesome.

Would you look at the face on this guy!!! He actually looks like he might be really soft though, if you could manage to avoid all of those prickly looking parts sticking up. Ewww...what am I talking about??? I wouldn't get anywhere near close enough to pet this mini monster. You are a brave soul, Roz, and thanks so much for the comfortable, safe-from-our-home computer monitor viewing.

Dang, Roz! I'm sure glad I didn't try to enter any of my feeble attempts at macro -- these make me glad I decided to sit out this challenge. I don't have a macro lens, so getting shots like this is impossible!

You are GOOD!

If I found this spider in my bathroom at night it wouldn't look like this. Nice photo, don't know how you do it.
