 Ok, I am trying to get with the New Millenium and play with textures. I just downloaded a bunch of them and tried different ones. I have aLOT more playing to do before I really get the hang of turning a normal photograph into something edgy and artistic -- but I kind of liked the old timey, old-world look this gave to my Abby. I think she has such classic old-timey beauty anyway.

Abby does NOT pose for photos. She hates having her picture taken (she comes by it honestly. Both her mom and me are like that), so to capture her, it has to be on the sly -- like here I was at a distance with my zoom lens.

This is just fantastic, Sandy! An awesome example of the the effective use of textures and effects to create a beautiful work of art. ...well a beautiful work of Sandy, I should say. ;-)

this does look rather old-school. i don't know if it's the texture or the coloring, but it's cool.

I'd say you've got the hang of it - this works very well with this picture. I love how her eyes just grab you, too. I like how you kept color in the subject but not the background, whether through composition or post processing. Nice work.
