sigh spent the whole day painting. but i saw the way sunset was hitting this wall, so i stopped and grabbed the camera.

this is the same apartment as this shot: in fact, the windows from that photo are casting the shadows you see here.

i still have 4 more rooms to paint this weekend.

sigh

Again, love the processing on this picture as I did the first one. The old feel given off makes me keep going back to look at the picture.

Looks like you have a lot done, here, buddy. :) I bet it will look great when you finished. Too bad I don't live closer, I'd help you out -- of course after the first couple of swarps, you would prbably send me on my way.

LOL just read your profile. Impressive, another sick mind. Nice to meet you.
And I'm a former Indianapolisite too.

I think this is a really great shot -- lots to look at. I love the yellow -- it's very 50s.

I'm with you on the painting, though I really like what you did with this shot.

by the way, this color yellow is by olympic paint and is called "honey pot."

you can buy it here:

tell 'em you know me. they love me there.

I agree, you captured your disdain of painting in the most artful manner with this detailed image. I love the graininess, and the lighting is fantastically beautiful. This is a superb image.

Your processing adds to the dreariness here, probably echoing your dislike of painting.

Ahhhh. I love painting and decorating. Every time my husband does his one week charity bike ride I do a room. That way he can't complain while I'm doing it. He always likes it when its done.
I like the color AND the lovely shadows. Nice jobS (painting and photographing too).

Keep going! The end will come! Painting, yuk! It is nice when it's done though. Good luck!

I really like this. I love the light (and it's all about light) but I love the feeling of renewal. I like the grain - how did you get it just near the top half of the shot? You may hate painting, but it's gonna look good when it's done!! And it makes for great photo ops.

I love the color, lighting is indeed wonderful! Actually I love painting -- when I was in high school and college my dad was a general contractor so I made a ton of dough painting houses :-)

Eeee. .. I hate painting so much. I really like that apartment tho. It looks like it has great bones. . .with the crown molding and cool windows. It looks so urban.

I really hope you don't hate painting as much as I do. . .cuz. . .if you do, I won't even say "have a nice weekend".

love this photograph .. it tells a story .. in a way i prefer the room unpainted .. its far more interesting photographically coz it looks like textures in photoshop .. excellent grain .. great processing ..:)

I really love this one, and I think I like to see the end result with that magical yellow on the walls.

ROFL I'm laughing because I've over the years, I've redone/repainted over 45 rooms. I don't mind it cause it changes a setting so much. I love the perspective and the texture of the drop cloth. The window is awesome.

Mmmmmm, sunshiney yellow! Or is it more of a mysterious yellow 70? Hmmmmmm...... ;-)

At first, I'm all gung-ho about painting and then I get started and "gung-ho" quickly changes to "am I done yet?" but then I'm halfway into it and I can't just stop. Or can I?

Look at you covering everything up. C'mon, be a rebel!! :)

Oh, this takes me back...I can even smell the fumes. After a while they become rather enjoyable. Lots of nice things about this shot...great angles, that beautiful light reflected on the wall, the swaths of green and gold against the otherwise neutral palette of the room. Even the slight touch of grain adds something to the mood. That's a nice sunny color that you've chosen. What's it called? I have been known to pick paints based, in part, on the sound of their name. I once was trying to decide between two similar shades-slate and champs-elysee, and I went with the latter because it just sounded so much more romantic. :)
