I just love ordinary subjects becoming important! Nice job here. I love the texture and the exposure is very good. Without blowing out the neg space you were able to show a reasonable amount of detail in the subject. Congrats! Good luck in the challenge! Grayce aka Gracious

Great texture, well placed composition, cool drip coming out of the faucet -- a 9 from me!

I like the contrast, and the detail of the texture of the negative space area, but I don't like the angle of the valve, and the drop isn't defined enough, you can almost miss seeing it.

Excellent ... one of the few photos in the challenge that actually contain negative space --8

Nice picture. The fact that the tap is pointing out of the picture annoys me a little though: why is that ? 7

your 'neg space' is a bit of a distraction to your subject

This one works great in B&W. I like the detail in the whole shot. Having it in B&W makes it seem really old. Good job. 9

This works very well as a black and white photo because of the great contrast and the nice texture of the wall and metal. However, I think it would have been a lot more effective had the camera been oriented to take a portrait shot. This is basically because of gravity. Since we all know that the water will flow down our brain subconsciously will try to follow the spout opening down to where the water should go and when our eyes are abruptly stopped at the bottom of the frmae so close to the spout it wrecks some of the aesthetic appeal when we are forced to look to the right and an empty wall.

Great composition. I love the textured wall and contrasts. Wish that droplet were a little more visible...though i have no clue how you would make it so. 8 Lisa

simple and nice. Good job! I wonder if shining it up a bit would create more detail on the metal. I almost didn't notice the water drop.

ooh i can't wait 'til it falls, bonus points for suspense.

I like the 'tapped out' theme in this photo. That lone drip of water hanging on to the fawcet is a really neat element of the photo. i wish there had been some great way to accent that more, as I feel it will go unnoticed. The positioning of the fawcet in the frame and the angle also add to the 'tapped out' theme... it's like a person turning his head to the side in disgust or exhaustion... good shot :) = 10 - jmsetzler

I don't know why, but the angle of the tap really bugs me.

It may seem silly, but I would have liked to see the faucet facing into the frame. Good neg space.

good.

You did a really nice job making an un-interesting object look interesting. If my definition of negative space is correct, you did a good job on that too. Nice focus and lighting. 8

I really like the texture and detail on this photo. What a wonderful shot of a completely ordinary object!
09/16/2002 08:38:00 AM
The texture on the wall looks dry and cracked. Goes well with the waterless tap.

Up: Good subject. Excellent detail focus. Excellent exposure. Good theme interpretation. Down: the choice of background makes the most interesting feature of the photo (the water drop) fade to near-invisibility. 8

Composition: I think that I would have cropped to just the quarter with the tap 5 Lighting: good 4 ,
Appeal: 5, Total Rating 5 Sulamk
