On the way to my parking lot there is this giant bush with wildly vivid flowers. The gardeners have kindly let it grow for a change, so the bush is FULL of blooms - it's stunning. Against our crazy blue sky, it's a feast for the eyes.

So - Sunday I started getting sick and it really hit hard yesterday, and today I'm not feeling much better. I have a big ol' fever, aches, pains, and overall malaise. However, I had no food, so I went out to get some stuff to make soup.

When I got home, I had to drop my groceries and shoot some photos of the bush. It's also full of bees. So the minute I start taking photos, this wind kicks up and starts waving the blooms all around; the bees freak out and leave.

Sweating heavily - because of fever and desert sun - I managed to take some photos. Only got blurry bees - these are hugely enlarged - and then I went crazy with this multi-tych. I can't see very well, due to the fever and the pain in my head - so if something is misaligned or out of focus, please forgive me.

Edit to say - I just looked at this in the upload and come to see that two of the flower images are all fuzzy. Well, damn. Must have happened through the many resizings they went through. Here are the crisper images to behold:

Great combo! I love that bee diving down in the top middle. Bees are always a blur to me when they are buzzing about anyway, so this has a true sense of realism. :)

What a fun combo. If three images make a diptych, what do you call it with eight images -- an octych?

It's a shame the resizing blurred those two flower photos, they are really striking at full sharpness! Well, not to worry, just feel better soon.

EDIT: PS, I forgot to mention how much I like this. Especially the terrific colors.
