Half a Hummer. Processing: crop, levels; ran Dragan action then deleted the last layer and reduced opacity on the second to last layer to 70%. Added B&W layer then reduced opacity to 38%. Duplicated layer, changed blending mode to overlay, reduced to 18%. Smart sharpen, resize, save for web.

How about trying this with an 'Acid' effect on it and maybe a rough border ?

I think this has the potential to be a really 'in your face' aggressive sort of picture - especially as Hummmers can look quite menacing anyhow.

The only problem is I'm not sure how to do it :- )

Post it over on PPC, I bet someone there could come up with something.

I like the processing on this - captures the grittiness of the surroundings without showing all the surroundings.

I really like the gritty low-color effect of this shot. It gives me a feel of what life must be like in that hot place. I can almost see the heat rising in the background. I also like the sharp focus and the rhythms of the tire, the grille, and the lights ... three separate rhythms playing together. I like the contrast in the long shadows on the ground too.

P.S. I just noticed the spring adding yet another rhythm to this composition.
