This is a wonderfully subtle take on the Challenge. The rust and wear & tear on the wooden post tell an important story. And technically, you've done a good job. This is the 3rd time I've looked at this. I instantly gave it an 8, and see no reason to change that score. Nice.

Very nice photo. My brother and I were discussing this and he agreed it is a very nice photo but could not really see how it fit the challenge. I don't know if I am right, but I told him I thought it might have something to do with the rusted metal peeling away...that it is slowly letting go to the elements.

This is two competitions in a row that I have liked the "rusty" entries. Good focus, creative thought on the challenge (and clearly "in bounds"), and nice use of depth of field. I hope you do well.

The main think is to get you image clear and excellent quality then worry about the so called subject. Take something simple and make it the best you can. Excellent work I like this one. 9
