 I like how this photo turned out. In my mind I wanted to photograph some foliage as my main subject. The sunlight that fell on the foliage separated the subject from the background. The relative darkness of the background and the shallow depth of field gave the photo quite a bit of dimension. The red blur (poinsettias) in the background also created a good contrast.

Shot in raw mode, converted to TIFF and Saved for Web in JPG; Canon 50mm prime lens at F1.8.

I didn't notice that the camera was set on Tv and that it was at 1/1000 shutter speed!

Nice color contrast between the plant and the out-of-focus background. The unsharp bud in the front detracts some, but still a nce shot.
