Challenge: Still Life With Motion (Advanced Editing V)
Collection: 2007-08-09
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro for Nikon
Location: Trail, BC
Date: Sep 23, 2007
Aperture: F 25
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1.3
Galleries: Still Life, Food and Drink
Date Uploaded: Sep 23, 2007

I was playing around (in my head) all week with the idea of "Sammy Sosa's Kitchen" or "home run" or something like that. I got stuck on that idea. But I didn't get to try making a couple picts until Sunday afternoon. Using artificial lights and setups is not natural to me :)

Made on tripod, indoors, artificial light (one modeling light, only way I've figured out how to use this light), timed exposure, manual mode; I moved the egg beater once the shutter opened.

Shot RAW, opened in PSCS3 without adjustments.

In PSCS3,
- Cropped slightly
- Adjusted curves
- Applied Photomatix tonemapping on copy layer, and blended in normal at ??%
- Ran through light touch of draganizer
- Flipped horizontal
- Cleaned up colours
- Ran through variations
- Resized, sharpened, saved for web.

Good idea for the challenge. I tried doing something similar but with a paint brush but couldn't get it to work well. This came out pretty good.

i like the lighting and blanket. but maybe if the whisk was actually whisking something would have been better inmyopinion.

hmmm, aren't you meant to take the eggs out of the shells first ;-)

Great technicals!! Love the lighting, the motion blur, the composition, the colors! I can't decide whether or not the fold is distracting or interesting... The idea was interesting, although it doesn't make much sense for a whisk to not be whisking...
