My attempt to emulate ursula's yellow ribboner from the Puzzle Macro challenge:

I used a glass bowl sitting on some colored sheets of mylar, about 3 inches of water and drops of olive oil. I went through a lot of oil! Sometimes I'd have too little bubbles, then I would have too many, and the water would get too oily and I'd dump it and start over - after a while I just gave up trying to exactly reproduce the bubble pattern.

Call this one "in the spirit of". :)

I love the beautifully smooth and vibrant colors. The composition also conveys a wonderful feeling of fluid motion. Ursula's seems much more static, like a 'water drop' photo.

Karen this is beautiful! I love the clarity and saturation of color. Love the crispness of some of the smaller bubbles. Congrats on the personal best!

You really managed to get a lot of depth in this photo, and the composition is quite interesting. I'm not quite as fond of the primary colors as Ursula's softer hues, but that is a stylistic choice. This is well done and seeing inspires me to want to try it for myself!

You did REALLY GOOD! This is very impressive. I wouldn't have even attempted to try to get this effect and you pulled it off perfectly!

Wow! Great use and capture of really bold & vibrantly deep colors. Love the sharp details on the smaller bubbles. Having larger 'water circles' along with sporadic smaller bubbles creates visual interest because of the varying sizes in the shapes. Wonderfully executed and well done on your emulation of Ursula's original.
