Feels a bit like me. I love it. 9

Great viewpoint and the surrounding space echoes the isolation and emotion of her pose. I find the cropping at the top too close to the head.

Crop just a tad more higher to get just above her head. 5

I don't know about the title, looks more like bordem to me...

I really like the perspective on this. And black and white helps to set the mood as well. karmat

excellent capture... I particularly like the angle you chose here... this is great :) I also love black and white and this image works very well in that format... good shot :) = 9 - jmsetzler

A tighter crop would have made a more dramatic pos/neg effect. 8

the crop is slightly too tight at the top, other than that nice job.

The negative space is Ok. The focus seems to be more on the floor than anythign though.. subject is too dark

I don't really get the feeling of defiance here. Probably because of the angle of the photo. I get a cold... lonely... mentally unstable feeling from this. With the camera looking down the person looks small and all those feelings I mentioned in the last sentence. The feet and stance are a part of body language. Her feet are parallel which doesn't give a great feeling of balance. Actually it feels uncomfortable.

To do defiance I'd think it would be better with a lower camera angle. With a view of the defiant face looking out of the frame, as the model is doing in this one. Also the feet should probably be angled outward for a more stable stance.

Stunning shot… I really like this, first class composition, well executed and the use of B&W works well to produce a great sense of drama. First 10 of the challenge…

Negative space as well as negative attitude. :) Good job with the challenge.

Interesting photo, it has mood. It involves the viewer by evoking curiosity... 'What is she defying? Who / What caused her to be in this mood?' etc. etc. I like photos which cause me to feel something... Good neg. space as well. Good stuff!

Real psychological negative space......... good title and strong image..... the isolated subject seen from above on the frame of the light toned tile grid makes the image........ i say a 9
