Terje is an amazing photog, wish he was still a member. :)
Here is his shot
i used my wide angle lens, and a makeshift snoot of tinfoil to try and get the magenta glow on the eggs in the foreground. Most of the time was spent trying to get the right lens and perspective, He had a partner to help him, I had to do it solo, so I used a timer and a makeshift hand to keep one hand free. The illusion isn't difficult but I have to give terje huge props for figuring out how to do it. The trick is that it is a long exposure and the cue ball is tied to a string and pulled back during the exposure, freakin genius. It took me a while to figure out what the red spot was, then it dawned on me it was a piece of chalk.
Editing, crop some selective color with masks, Levels, curves, gaussian blur on the table. Sharpen resize play with more levels selectively, add border like the original, Save for Web.

Wow, you did an awesome job in replicating the setup! I'm impressed. The trick is having a small room to play pool in, making your girlfriend lay on the floor behind you pulling the string. :-)

Outstanding job Joe!

Wow, I had never figured out how that was done (though spotting the chalk was easy). Excellent work!

Subtle difference, yes, but finding a stamped egg, I have never seen one. So with that I have to give a ten to this one.

Excellent shot! Unfortunately it's hard to find the original because Terje has no portfolio and there is no match for Broken Eggs. I am very interested on seeing how you did this shot, especially the tracking of the queue ball (apparently with rear curtain flash excellently timed!) and how many eggs you had to go through to do this. Otherwise if it's not the actual movement of the queue ball and everything was static, I want to see how you managed to legally do it in advanced editing. I would like to score this higher, but since I can't find the original I'll limit it to a 7 for this challenge.

These eggs don't carry the Norwegian stamp of approval. Then again, it doesn't look as though they'll be needing that much longer . . .
Good idea, well done.

Similar, but different in several ways. Yet I can't decide which is better. We'll call it a draw.

Are the eggs blown so they don't ooze all over the table?

Great motion blur there showing the motion of the cue ball! I also love the sharp details on the cue ball, 8 ball and all those eggs (including the bumpy texture on the eggs). Lighting is also wonderful illuminating all elements of the composition. I only have one small critique (trust me, tis small) but with this being Advanced Editing I think you could have cloned out or toned down the glare on the 8-ball making the 8 more visible. Other than that this is a wonderfully done emulation of the original!

Joe? This is much better than the original. Not only is the lighting and clarity better, but the composition is also an upgrade. Overall it just has more pizazz.

Cool shot. I dread the cleanup you had to do... egg yolk on felt can be a nightmare :)

Looks better without the text on the eggs. Great job. Hope it does well for you.

I think you may have edged out the original with this one. Seems a bit sharper and I like this comp better. I like that you even took it down to the detail of the chalk on the edge. Awesome job!
