Got home from work last evening and waiting around for the family to get ready to head out to grab something to eat, I was struck by the shimmering rectangle of light playing on the freshly painted walls. Thought it would make a nice B+W so took a fair number of shots at varying exposures, and thought I'd process this one. This one was actually hand held at 1/8 of a second!
Nothing special in processing, just a tiny contrast bump, then desaturate in elements, then boosted the lightness in the red and yellow color channels, and knocked most of the other channels way down to reduce noise.
Nice detail for F3.5!. Wonderful use of lines and light in this photo. You have to love it when opportunities like this present themselves. :) You have just a minor left tilt that would make the image a little stronger if straightened out.
Good eye, that little splash of light is very interesting in its shape and how the light varies within it. Contrasted against the stark perfection of the stair railing it makes for a very nice scene.
