I think hihosilver is right....sell that XTi. but instead of a Nikon you should buy a 40D!

| Wow, Thanks to everyone for the really nice comments. I feel kind of like a fraud getting this ribbon due to a disqualification of a really outstanding photo. I would like to thank my good friend Hihosilver for getting me hooked on to DPC and for taking me to my favorite place in the world to photograph birds. We always have a lot of fun scouring the earth to find locations that will meet the next challenge. |

Rita CONGRATULATIONS! It is amazing that with all of your stunning photos this is only your first ribbon -- so much of your work is ribbon quality! But I am so happy this one ribboned!

The reflection makes the image too large and keep flipping focus back and forth between reflection and actual bird. My preference would have been to see this pic cropped without the reflection (basically chop picture in half). Probably would have rated among my top pics in this challenge.
I just covered the bottom part with my hand and def would have rated among the top. |

Composition: Subject Placement, Cropping, Background v good,
Technical: Focus, Exposure: v good, lovely reflection
Appeal:lovely soft colour, good focal point excellent timing
