This is the Ab Jenkins Duesenberg SJ Special (Mormon Meteor), which set the 24 hour world speed record briefly in 1935 at 135.47 MPH. A few days later, this record was broken. Jenkins returned in 1936 with a new V-12 engine (an aircraft engine built by Lycoming - the engine builder for Duesenberg autos) fitted to the chassis, and again set the world speed record for both 24 hours (153.823) and 48 hours (148.641).

This car won the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Best of Show award. It was photographed during the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival, after the parade, parked in the Dekalb County Courthouse Square, Auburn, Indiana.

Critique Club feedback -

Best thing about this is the choice of font you used - perfect match for the old cars! Very subtle choice and I wonder if a lot of people recognizedit as a style of font from the same eras as the cars.

Too bad about the busy background (the people in the upper right). I like your font choice, it fits with the make/model of the car.

Love the colours in this, very clear photo. Did you try cropping out the red car in the background? Might be better

And the best in show at Pebble Beach...

Good borders and sentiment. Seems to call for a view that shows only one best car to go with the statement. The one in the background clutters and distracts (but you got an excellent exposure on that one, shiny and saturated color with a few specular highlights). I wish the yellow car could have less white highlight on the right end of the hood, and that the brand name lettering could have looked all chrome instead of half greenery.

Nice image! You cetainly chose the correct font for that era. This would make a great poster!

Great font to use with this image. Clever but not exactly motivating me.

More of an ad than a motivational poster. First class graphics and photo though!
