Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Garage Art (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Garage, of course.
Date: Feb 1, 2004
Aperture: f/32
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/8 s
Galleries: Macro
Date Uploaded: Feb 1, 2004

Nuts in a plastic transluscent tray, part immersed in oil, lit from underneath and on top using halogen 500w lamps.
EF 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens.
Processed using C1 1.3 and Adobe Photoshop CS. Kept the halogen colouring which looked good to me! Exposure compensation, crop, USM, that's it!

This is one of the most under rated picture of the challenge.

I gave this a 9 for color and composition

Nice colors, I like the gradient as well. Placement is the only thing that bothers me here. This is very rigid, it probably should have been in line with the frame, the bottom half especially. Original none the lees, well done!

Terrific presentation of these mundane objects. The gold background was a super idea.

Nicely composed and photographed. I Like the way you have set off your subject with the yellow backround and it looks like they are resting in some oil. There is a string or something on the top nut which is slightly distracting otherwise a technically well done picture.

I'm not quite sure what it is, but it's not really interesting enough for me to want to know what it is.

I love the color and shading -- how the yellow goes from light to dark, corner to corner. I like that it was off-center. However, I find the bottom angle distracting. I think it would have looked better if it were either straight across the bottom, or if the angle were more deliberate.

i see potential, unrealized. crooked, not cropped well...it does not say anything.
