....we get to 63rd Street AKA Cobbs Creek Parkway and she tells me what an efficient street it is. It takes you from North Philly to the airport and she really needs to become more familar with it in order to use it more. I tell her how when it rained horribly one time when I was at my Mom's and the Marshall Road route was flooded out, the cabby driver, another woman as a matter of fact, drove to Baltimore Pike and to 63rd Street and went into the City from there. She said that was a great idea. A turn off was coming up that is often a bit dicey for some cabbies but she negotiated fine except she thought it was a one way street cause a car was parking in the opposite direction on the right side of the street and the left side was lined up with cars all parked towards us....DUMMY me says Don't worry about it, it is a two way street, that guy is just messing with your mind! Fortunately we are out of Philly in Upper Darby and close enough to Mom's where I could walk if necessary because she goes.....They can't mess with my mind. I've had DEATH THREATS from ABC NEWS....they cannot possibly mess with my mind, Brian gets away with this and how is that possible!
I get to Mom's safe and dry. She drives off. I breath a sigh of relief. Mom knew I was coming but is asleep on the couch in the living room when I get there. I leave my stuff on the enclosed front porch, quietly go in past Mom to the kitchen and get an ashtray and go back to the porch. Open the middle windows at either end of the porch for some cross breeze. I look at my old friend the Japanese Maple on the neighbor's property. Always loved this tree. We used to play under it in the summer cause it was shaded and cool and the branches were always close to the ground. It was like a tent. So I take pics of the tree through the open window which is screened.
Mom wakes up and says Robert, when did you get here. I say about 45 minutes ago. She says well I was right in the living room and the door was open and I said I know but you were Sound asleep. My sister was upsatairs the whole time as well, prolly not asleep but busy as usual with some project or other....maybe printing out and putting to together her pictures from her 3+ weeks in Denmark and Greece. Mom makes dinner. We eat. I get my stuff and sis drives me home.
When I get home all I can find on the Web is that current owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer is a fine, upstanding citizen. |

Wow..what a story...kind of blurs the lines between truth and fiction. |

Alot of people only remember the past the way they want to... truth be damned!
Nice correlation with the story/photos, brings it all into focus ;) |
