 I wasnt going to enter anything into the wings competition, but on the weekend, photographing the horse races, there where these gulls circling overhead trying to scavenge food from the people watching the races. I snapped a few of them against the dark ceiling of the grandstand, providing for nice contrast. I think the only drawback of this image is that it is a seagull, and not something more exotic, like a hawk, eagle or falcon. Otherwise, I like how the shot turned out.

Beautifully captured! Not too sure about the black background as it tends to make the bird look like a too unreal.

The border really helps this shot. The whites are a little strong - losing a bit of detail, but I really like the lines & shapes of composition and the background tones.
