It's definitely a posthumous classic! It totally failed my blast-through on the first round, and I never got back to it. Upon inspection, it has quite a few merits that I missed. I think I'll just go there.

The vertical fencebrace, and the horizontal one give this image the feel of looking through a window to outside. The horizontal one also gives me a feeling of a horizon, though false, and this horizon separates the "back forty" from the barnyard/front meadow.

There's enough detail and allusion in the image to carry the rural, and the division of the fencebraces once again, gives the entire image more volume. The clouds help.

It's a very interesting work and the B&W is a must with the shadows, textures, and division.

I like it now that I've bothered to look at it for a bit.

ETA: I just read the description and saw that my take on this without knowing it was a window was wrong, but I'll just leave it as it is. I hope you're amused!

Great take on the challenge - like how your framing sets up, in effect, 4 mini rural landscapes for us to look at. Started this at a 9, bumping to a 10.

I think I might like this better in color.

might have been a good shot without the mesh.

I like the bottom half of the photograph but the top doesn't work for me.

good take on the challenge. too bad, the upper part of the window was that dirty - or maybe it's a reflection?

For me, I'm not sure the black & white works well. I wonder how this looked in color? My eyes stop at the cross intersection and I don't see anything past that.

I really like this. It isn't the typical landscape. The screening makes for interesting texture.
