graininess comes from an extreme crop, a big curve and a big sharpen. I used channel mixer on the blue channel to make it b/w. I predict 4-land, though this has the potential to go even lower. I\'m not purposely going for the brown ribbon, though. I didn\'t have time to pick from a lot of images, and I like the way I processed this one. I think it has a mood to it.

If you haven't seen this, I would highly recommend this gallery of pure photography and the author's article on composition. I, myself, haven't worked through all of it, yet, and I find this fascianting.

You are correct! Like you said, I sacrificed everything for composition. And I think grain is sexy.

Very over proceesed and grainy. I do like that the lines are so white but the background is very distracting.The photo is harsh.
