Another at International Friendship Gardens in Michigan City. This was really difficult to take because we were already out in the heat for about 1 1/2 hours and I had to bend down and deal with the shallow DOF while the wind gently blew. I shot this flower from this angle 18 times and it turns out that the first was the best. I like the reds and how the "star" is duplicated in background.

Just basic editing on this one.

Gorgeous, just gorgeous! The color is incredible, love the DOF, and it is sharp as a tack despite the breezes!

Amazing color and depth of field -- it must have been about as thing as a slice of proscuitto ham.

Very sci-fi, like a flower/star comet shooting out of a nebula. Beautiful reds and pinks.

i prefer the yellow one ... but the colours in both are brilliant .. love the perspective in this one .. and i totally sympathise with you about the wind .. so often i'm stooped over, real close to that flower or bug or wotever, and i've got it right where i want it, then suddenly there's a gust of wind .. i try and go with the flow and tell myself that its just not meant to be .. etc .. and that i'll get the perfect shot in another moment when the wind dies down .. if not then i'm sure i'll get that perfect shot tomorrow .. hmmmmmm .. i think the saying is 'tomorrow never comes' .. unfortunately that's working for me !!!

Yeah, I know how difficult it is to take macro flowers when it's windy. You did a really good job here.
