 Well....I sure thought this picture wasn't going to happen.

I did some pictures Sunday morning for my cousin and some of her husbands family and it all went good. Then I came on DPC and saw that there was this sweet action free study going on. I thought "Cool, I have a few good ideas to try out and I haven't entered a challenge for a little while." I just moved two hours away from where I lived before and it turns out that I left the charger for my 10D's batteries behind (oops....going to have to go back for that). I got one picture in with my 10D before the batteries died out on me....so I gave up.

Then I saw my girlfriends camera sitting around and I figured I'd give it another try. Her camera is so crappy it isn't even listen on DPC though....it's actually the IZone 550 from Polaroid. It has no exposure controls at all...so I just had to wing it. I had the lights off in the room and pressed the shutter button, then with my right hand I would manually fire one of my flash heads and bounce the light off the ceiling hoping that it would fall in between the time the shutter was open and closed. Worked like a charm. Well....it took me a few tries, but it turned out better than I expected.

Just goes to show you, you don't need the best camera in the world to take a decent picture.

My favorite pregnant shot on dpc, I think. I can't think of any others that I even like. This is haunting and suggestive. 9

BEAUTIFUL!, very unconventional maternity shot its awesome, her arm position seems strange for me, maybe if her hands were going through her hair? still this is stunning

fantastic .. this brings back memories ... my daughter is 18, so the memories have faded a fair bit !! .. excellent emotive photograph and i love your subdued processing .. :)
