Well I'm no pro either (referring to Goodman's post) but I gotta say I'm not crazy about this shot. Technically it's good but I don't find much appeal in it beyond that. My eyes go straight to that out of focus flower bud and then just sort of wander aimlessly there after. There's no leading lines or anything to suggest that I should see something beyond what's there. Maybe I'm just missing it.

I wonder about this. I focus almost entirely on the one foreground flower that is in sharp focus. The yellow flowers and blue sky with clouds in the background complement the foreground flowers in color and tone, and the dark trees set them off well. The softness throughout adds appropriately to the feel of the image. I'm just not sure about the one foreground flower, unless your intent was to drive the viewer there (which, for me, it does), but without it, I'm not sure where I would be looking . . .

Sorry, I can find nothing wrong here. I can say I do have an impression of all these 'eyes wide open' series, they remind me of Monet, the hilly landscapes of color. I find these very pleasing to view.

This is beautiful! I love the strong colors blended together by the blur. The angle is so interesting too. I bet a picture of you getting down low enough to take this photo would have also been quite interesting.
