More experiments. I rested the camera on the back of the seat in front of me with the shutter set to 2s (F/8 got the exposure about right). Waited for the train to stop and the doors to open and opened the shutter. A few tries yielded this, where this guy blurred out almost perfectly between the poles.

I added the green to make it look like he's beaming in.

I think it looked better in my head.

very "beam me up Scotty" like. Thus your changes work perfectly.

It does fit in with the Star Trek idea you are trying to convey. Very well done.

That lime green column is amazing. He's obviously about to be beamed up somewhere. And that woman is taking notes. This has got to be one of the great street shots of all time.

It's so interesting the way just the lime green person got completely blurred. How'd you do that! Blur is so fascinating.

The lime green truly makes the shot.

So very wonderful, I absolutely love it! Okay I admit it, I'm a Trekkie, and you have captured a 'beam me up Scotty' moment in a most creative and convincing way :-) I also love the woman's expression, a truly inquisitive look that perfectly accents your wonderful green blur. Can't stop admiring it, wow!

Very clever strategy for having only part of the image blurred. It would be interesting to see the version without the green color, but I do like the artistic effect, which matches your interpreation. At the same time, her expression is a great enhancement to the composition. Nice capture.

Adding that green really through me for a loop. I read your comments after I studied the picture and had a hard time with that green. But I like the green, it adds so much interest. Nice one.
