I'm new at this blur thing. But I think I like it :) I added this with a radial blur, but today, I'm going to go try to get some "straight from the camera" interesting blur.

Very, very cool! I love the little diagonal step-marks the in-focus paving stones make which mimic the shape of the human. Really nice use of radial blur!

I think this is a good exercise in becoming more accustomed to feeling comfortable with blur. And I agree that I think you'll be more satisfied with the results when you make the blur compliment the feeling or movement of the base image. To me the blur here doesn't really serve a specific purpose (other than to be blurred). And in some cases that may work, but not sure it does here.

Don't get me wrong - I was at a COMPLETE loss for blurred inspiration, but after seeing some of the results of other people's work, I'm starting to grow into some very new, very novel perspectives.

It's a fun experiment, for sure. I think the trick is to find ways to use blur to effectively tell the story you want to tell. In other words, it's just like every other photographic and editing technique. :)

Here, this strikes me mostly as a gimmick, although the title makes a nice save. That's not bad, it's just an experiment that can help you think about to use it better. I mean, my first shot for this project was just an experiment, too.

Quite effective, the lady adds a point of stability to a spinning world.
