Yes, the kitten is really running down the tree. It was a great day because the five back yard stray kittens started to integrate with the seven front yard stray kittens. Both litters are about four months old. I've had absolutely no luck finding homes for them; looks like I'm going to have to start a cat farm :-)

BTW, I have to admit that this blurry shot was not intentional, just a fortuitous accident :-)

Life and its accidents make for a very fine feline foto. Ohhhh, so sad to be so hokey so early in the day. But I read your description and the fingers flew with fun.
As hokey as it sounds I really feel that way it really was a great accident because I adore this shot.

Not just motion, that kitten is actually forming itself out of the tree, coming into being as you captured it. Of course, it's mother probably wouldn't appreciate me saying that, but the image looks totally cool.

I love fortuitous accidents because the motion blur that you have here is fantastic (and works so well in black and white)

If you struggle to find home for the cats I could always lend you some hessian bags and some rocks....(I'm joking!!!!!!!! Dont hate me!!!!)

Sounds like a really exciting day. Are you going to take up donations for spay and neuter treatments? :)

I love this shot. Love the motion, love the BW, love the verticalness and the unexpectedness of it. Nice job.

Haha, my mom's cats do this, they run up the tree & then run down really fast, it's funny too because they are only out on little leashes, yet they jump around like free wild kittens!

That looks so weird, I think the b&w was definitely a good choice. Very unique looking!

Far OUT! The vertical lines and the BW are awesome. Great job!

12 kittens, huh? 48 paws. You'll just have to publish a book of those amazing photos you've been taking. With the proceeds, you can feed them all. LOL!

Definitely blur-worthy! The vertical aspect is surprising and grabs my attention. I like the b&w, too.

That's a lot of kittens to deal with!
