Well today being a Monday I work from home. Because it is the summer holiday Daisy is in the house rather than at school so I always think it is nice for her to have friends round so she can have fun whilst dad is in the home office.

This is Maya, who lives just down the road from us and who is in Daisy's class. The girls were fantastic today playing with lego all day, I occasionally heard giggling from my office as the village they were creating came to life.

Anyway just before Maya left I went to examine their creation and took a couple of photos of it, it was pretty cool but I thought that maybe if it was raining colours it would be more fun. The girls dutifully tossed handfuls in the air (one of the few times Daisy has been happy when Dad says...can we try for that picture again...) There was a terrible price to pay for this posing though as I had to agree to tidy the lego afterwards, and I just know that I will have missed a piece or two and will slam my bare foot onto it in the not too distant future

I appreciate this is hardly suffering for my art on the scale of Van Gogh, but let me tell you if he had had to contend with sharp plastic burrowing its way in his feet on a regular basis, I doubt sunflowers would have evr got painted

There is nothing quite like the exquisite agony of a Lego brick stabbing the bottom of one's bare foot at 2 AM.

Lovely and fun action shot! The bricks suspended in midair are simply sublime.

Fun photo, it looks as if the Legos are exploding. The expressions on the faces of your daughter and her friend really make this a keeper!

Jon, this is an AWESOME shot. So much fun and energy in this photo. This went from a simple portrait shot (pose with your creation girls), to something with interesting dynamics in it. I love the legos flying in the air. It's like gravity stopped working for a moment. I love that Daisy has her eyes closed and that Maya is looking at the "floating" objects. Makes for a very involved pic. Really nice job.

So fun! I love how Daisy is smiling so big yet squishing her eyes shut for the fear of falling leggos hititng her....that's an expression I'd probably have too. Van Gogh has nothing on you! :)

The Flying Legos look like bits of colored confetti. Cool idea for a shot.

I never played with Lego's but my kids sure did -- I think we had a fortune invested in them by the time they outgrew them. I used to have a special Lego sheet that they played on. The idea was that when the kids were through playing with Legos, I would just pick up the four corners of the sheet and the Legos would fall to the center, and there would be no mess for Mother (me) to clean up. Hah! Legos are really crafty and there were always a couple that would escape to the depths of the rug waiting for a stealth attack on an unsuspecting foot.

How fun! what a great capture Jon, the girls look like they're having a blast! Does anyone remember Jacks? the 6 point star of INTENSE pain when stepped on? right up there with the Die cast metal airplanes!!

What a great capture of the legos free falling. Very crisp, clear, and of course colorful. It's all made complete by their fun expressions and poses. Absolute fun!

This is such a fun photo, I can see the glee in the girls faces. I think cleaning up the legos is a small price to pay for the oipportunity to get a shot like this.

Very sweet, Jon. This would make a great commercial for Legos. I used to play with them and just LOVED my Legos - that was in the good old days (I dare you to say anything!!) when we only had very simple ones, but still managed to build interesting constructions.

Stepping on the Lego - yes, I'm familiar with that. You have to wash your mouth out with soap afterwards.

The fun colors falling through the air - very well captured! And the girls are too cute.

The only thing that hurts worse than a lego is a miniature die cast airplane. Oh my freaking gosh, that has got to be one of the worst pains in the world.

This is such a fun looking shot. Wonder if I can get my kids to mess something up for me. More importantly, wonder if I can get my husband to clean it up?
