This is in Kuwait, in a city called Fajaheel. I was entirely too chicken as the only female for MILES and a foreign one at that to actually get out and shoot pictures, so this is a drive-by. Most of the rest are hopelessly blurry and not even artistically so. There were some awesome opportunities... but I'm not comfortable enough to get out of the car and try to shoot there.

What a great street shot. I really like the split background -- the cave vs. the counter.

As for walking around and shooting, discretion is the better part of valor.

Nice b&w conversion, gives a good sense of the grunginess of a typical auto shop.

Deb - thanks for being brave and sharing this part of the world with us. I think this is pretty good for a drive-by shot. I'm just looking at the whole scene - from what is being sold, to how the man's clothes look dirty - and I am wondering what he's doing there. Interesting photo!

Well Deb, I think you're pretty darn gutsy for just being there in the first place! Let alone taking pics! Well done!!

Composition: Subject Placement, Cropping, Background very good,
Technical: Focus, Exposure: the lighting is patchy slightly overexposed on one side
Appeal: an appealing pic, that tells a story

Great light...lots of dramatic contrast that really adds to the already great interest. Very nice!

a good slice of life, I like the bulb above his head.

right half is too dark, overall lacking a bit of sharpness, otherwise a very good environmental portrait

Nice capture - Like the single bulb a lot - Maybe just a tad too contrasty
