I supposed this freakish picture needs some explanation...

The wife and I went for dinner (without kids) then were hoped to catch a sunset at the beach. The sun set, but unfortunately it was behind the clouds. A walk on the boardwalk was canceled because it started drizzling. I had no picture yet for today so I took a couple quick shots from the boat launch.

The original was mostly bluish/gray and very dull looking. I went to adjust curves and decided to try the presets - this is the "color negative (RGB)". I tweaked colors and levels a bit, lightened sky and cloned out some small stuff in water.

I tried a square crop but just couldn't leave it that way.

Killer post processing! The water looks awesome. The original pales in comparison. Great job!

Have to say I dont normally like this sort of PP (Im not a great fan of digital art), but this is spectacular

The colour negative has produced a brilliant effect and the strength of the colours (which never appear harsh) are visually astounding

Good job

I love this processing, at first I almost thought it was the coolest looking sunset ever! I am going to have to try this sometime, it looks amazing!

The post processing is awesome! This is way better than the original. I love the orange red glow of everything. The reflections in the water are ghostly and eerie - very cool!

That looks freakin' awesome! The water looks like fire, or lava or something, I think your editing really works well here. I'd be interested in seeing the original just for a comparison...

Normally, I don't like extreme colors like this, but I think it works here.

I absolutely love the processing here, and am SO glad you said how you did it. Very pleasing to look at... a bit of your sunset after all, huh?

I love what you did. Such a wonderful creation. Color negative does not always work, but it truly enhanced this image. Its orange color is fabulous.

Unbelievable -- what a gorgeous photo. Normally I dislike negatives, but to me this is not a typical one. That river glows!
