Well it was a cute idea, but the odds were definitely against me! My house wouldn't work for the shot because of all the trees. I found a great location to shoot this, but the owners were out of town. So I found another house... same problem. Every place I tried, the owners were either away or not available until after dark. Three different people were supposed to call me on deadline day and they all fell through. Crap!

When I got home from work, one of the neighborhood kids was over for a playdate. Hmm... my neighbor agreed to give me a shot at it, but I only had about an hour until dark. I wanted to shoot from the opposite direction for a clean background, but the window I needed was stuck. The opposite end of the house had power lines to deal with. The front lawn is short, so I had little choice for composition. It was pretty much this or nothing. I set up two monolights, but the remote receivers I ordered haven't arrived yet, so I had to keep them fairly close to fire.

I tried to get some goofy boxers with hearts on them, but polka dots were all I could find (that's me in the skivvies). Fortunately, the house is secluded. ;-)

Special thanks to my neighbor for throwing stuff out her window on short notice. Yes, she's very much a "she," but the angle certainly could have been better. By the time I got set up and [un]dressed, the twilight was fading fast, so I was at the mercy of my wife hitting the remote shutter release on burst mode and hoping for the best.

The result wasn't exactly appealing, but I'm glad some people appreciated the humor in it. ;-)

Oh, those were golf clubs and not a tripod and camera equipment? Let me change that 9 to a 7. Another great job Shannon.

instead of golf clubs what if the tripod/camera/lens/filter/scandisk ... you get the idea ... went out the window, - polka dot shorts soiled !!

Good image.

Not the camera equipment and the PC! Very creative, technically very good, meets the challenge well with added wow factor. 9

Have you seen any of Julie Blackmon photos because these are not any where near hers. However you are at least on task with the assignment. The flash is uneven and the man in the window does not look like a women however if you showed a lady and her lover throwing your crap out the window then you might have a prize in the making. Again the flash messed up the whole job can we shoot this over. Cut. A for effort.

Oh my, what the neighbors must have been thinking! The laptop looks a bit too staged, sitting there open and upright, but love the mid-air clothing toss! Great job!

Need more junk outside, and instead of seeing the person in the window I think it would have been much more dramatic to just see stuff flying out the window. That way you don't even see the face of her. Fun idea though. Wondering if maybe having your flash more of an angle to get rid of a couple of those extra shadows?

Oh, man, this is awesome! What a great idea and capture. Hope this is a mock-up, LOL :-) Nice polka-dot boxers by the way. Good thing it's your golf clubs and not all your camera gear on the ground out there!

I like the lighting in this. Have to add some to the score for the guy that had to stand out the front of the house in his underwear. :) 8
