I like this and think it might have done better in the negative space challenge. Too bad we don't know what is coming up a few weeks in advance for planning purposes.

Nice concept and a great shot - well done! 9 - floyd

I definately like it.

You need more depth of field. Ha ha! just kidding, though I'm sure some will have said it. I love the blurry background. Nicely composed. The subject really stands out even if it only covers a fraction of the surface of the picture. 9.

Are you having as much touble as I am in getting a really narrow DOF?
09/13/2002 03:20:00 PM
I don't think that shrooms are exactly a Fruit or Veggie. If my memory serves me right, I learned in my botany course that a shroom is an organism within itself. Other than that I like this shot. I like the DOF and angle.

simple but nice.

Almost seems like there should be a cast of light coming from under the hood
09/11/2002 12:30:00 PM
good framing

An unusual photograph to enter, but I like it.

Neat idea but really dosen't meet the challange.
09/10/2002 05:02:00 PM
I would have framed it differently

Cool shot !! I like the white of the mushroom against the dark background. The only flaw of this picture is that damn bright light right above your subjet, a little distracting.

Hey, it might not meet the challenge, but I expect it's a fungi to be with :o)
Asiide from that, it's a great shot - my shots a mushroom as well BTW - and it's a great use of DOFand the dreaded negative space. (9) Good luck, I hope it does well, mushroom not withstanding...

Great shot, one of this weeks favorites for me. I love the contrast between the mushroom and the busy-ness of the background.

great shot, but the backround distracts.

Wow. Another nice mushroom shot. I love light. Look at the beautiful out of focus light noise in the background. That looks sweet. Then the clear mushroom, totally in focus with a soft blue hue on it. Beautiful wood grain. This is an amazing picture. I hope you get a good overall rank. I'm marking this pretty high. - phlebotiss

Are ya tired of hearing about how mushrooms aren't veggies yet? - jmsetzler

The foreground is exceptional! I'm less than thrilled with the background, but what the heck. I love this little guy so much, it's a 10 anyway! Swash

I love the fact that it almost seems as though the mushroom is at a fair.

This is a wonderful picture all on it's own, it doesn'tneed a title. It would also be a good shot for this weeks competition of negative space.
09/09/2002 01:56:00 AM
nice DOF.

A mushroom is technically not a plant or fruit, it is a fungi; but in terms of its nutritional contents, it is classified as a vegetable...Nice pic, I think it needs a clearer background...or is this what you wanted?
09/09/2002 12:16:00 AM
DOH FUNGUS!
awsome DOF though...
