I've been having lower back aches lately, and I thought it may be because I spend too much time planted in front of my computer. So I decided to get more exercise every day working around the yard and taking walks and such.

I was rewarded at the Socorro Nature Area with a couple of roadrunners right off the bat. Unfortunately I couldn't get close enough to get a good shot (this one is 300mm and almost the real size), but I wanted to post it anyway because it is so New Mexico :-) Hopefully I will run into more of them in the future who are not so shy!

Great clarity! I don't think I've ever seen a roadrunner before, I love the fuzz on his head!

Ha, you and I obviously have completely different ideas of what a 'not good' shot is. Super shot with the fence providing a great leading line and the road runner smack on a rule of third point which really attracts the eye

lol love the title.

This is a great catch - I love the rail that leads you into the photo. The bird is in the perfect spot to catch your eye. Good photo!

That's so neat! I've never actually seen a roadrunner besides the one with wyle e. coyote!

That's one strange looking bird! I like the DOF and lines here. You have the upper right to lower left lines separating the layers and then it's offset by the railing coming back through it.

This is a great shot. Love the composition and clarity. I have not seen a roadrunner before, so this is exciting.

What an awesome catch!!! Roadrunners are extremely elusive. I see them once in a while out back on my mountain. This is great the way he - or she - is posing on the fence against the green. Good job!
