One can learn something new every day if one looks in the right place. Reading some of the comments here has been really enlightening. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this myself, but if I ever do, I'll know what it's all about. |

Very interesting, especially bieng that it's 2 1/2 feet above ground. I have a door in my office that leads to nowhere, I may actually steal your idea & photo it one day because it's pretty funny that it's next to my desk in the wall but is there for no reason & is sealed shut...very strange :) |

yes an unusual place to put a door ... great grungy shot ... :)
this is a shot by lisa iamwoman who lives in australia, so it appears that doors in walls 2 1/2 feet above the ground is a universal thing .. !!!!

Just bizarre, I wonder if it used to be a serving hatch of some kind (or if the buildings owners had a sick sense of humour and the used to usher people out of here from inside going mind the steeeeeeep
As ever with your B&W conversions spot on with a real textured feel to it |

That is indeed strange - I wonder these things too. Could it have been a loading dock and then they made a small door out of it? Good job on the B&W. |

Nice b&w definitely looks like a door to nowhere. Looks like a time-warp zone or something... |

LOL! I've actually seen something like this once. I wonder if there was a joined building that they tore down, or stairs that have been removed. Go figure. Great find and processing, as usual for you! |

Amazing shot -- it looks as if you cut and pasted a door onto a brick wall. Either that, or the door is just suspended in space. The whole thing is nice and weird. Nice choice for b&w. |

Well my son... back in the early teens this place was a juice factory and this was the loading dock. When the juice factory closed a Mr. Scrantch came in and decided to make this place an office building. The fire code dictated that there must be a separate door at the opposite side of the building so he converted the loading dock to be a door. Since folks only had to escape if there was a fire no steps were ever installed. Now'a days... well ole Scrantch is dead and no one even has a key to this door. So much for fire escapes.
Great picture man.

lol this is hilarious. Your composition really emphasizes the fact that the door is above the ground lol. It does make you wonder. Great black and white processing. |
