Ok so Daisy and I have had a great active day today. This morning we went for a 15 mile cycle and then after we did various chores Polly and Cassie (her cousins) and Brian (her Uncle) came round and we went down to the park where we played rounders (the girls beat the boys in a best of 3 tournament winning 7-6, 6-7 and 16-13 in the final game...I would like to pretend that we let them, but in the final game we were undone by Daisy taking a stupendous catch to dismiss Brian and then Polly producing some cat like reactions to stump me at first base). After that the girls did relay races round the lake and we finished off by playing a bit of football. The skies suddenley opened and we ended up playing football 7's under a bridge.

Daisy chose her favourite pic of the day for my entry today. This is her walloping one which ended up being a three base hit (I was at first base thinking...she'll never get it very far....whoops)

I also wanted to stick a couple of others I liked in as out takes, the first is Daisy, belting round the lake with the stick baton in her hand and the other one is of us playing football under the bridge whilst it tipped down (please note that is not noise in the background it is the rain)

A fabulous day and one where you have that lovely feeling of tiredness that comes from physical exertion at the end of it

Arghhhhh Just realised I forgot to square crop....Altogether now DNMC!!!!!!!

We call it rounders cos it it rounders and will always be rounders : ) and the very best rounders is played with any old piece of vaguely round wood that comes to hand.

Interesting shaped ball though - you weren't throwing a cooking apple at her by any chance were you ? lol

What a pretty place to play, and Daisy has every right to be proud of that hit! Sweet shot :-)

I love reading your long explanations. I almost have to decipher it sometimes...it's quite fun. So is Rounders what I would call Baseball? And why is she carrying a baton, is it a relay race?

Either way, it's obvious from your 50 days that you have a great relationship with Daisy. In today's world, that's a big accomplishment. Congrats.

Beautiful description of your day, and some lovely shots to show for it. I am so impressed with your involvement with your daughter, and with the way you get out and DO stuff.

I especially like the soccer-under-the-bridge shot -- looks like something for a magazine.

Wow, you are an active bunch. I am just finishing up a day of lying around on the bed reading a book. Well, not entirely, but definitely not this level of activity!

Fabulous photos, Jon - the action shots of Daisy are outstanding. Love your stories, too.

With the intense look on her face, it looks like she smacked the heck out of the ball. Good for her to make it to 3rd base! Sounds like you guys had a wonderful day out.

Super shot of Daisy playing rounders. I really like how you didn't quite stop the ball -- that adds a whole other dimension to the shot. Good colors in the vegetation, too -- comes from all the rain. 8)

Actually, my favorite is the b&w in the tunnel. Is that the cattle crossing from a couple of days ago?

What kind of ball is that, Jon? GREAT expression on Daisy's face. I love that they beat the boys fair and square. Of course, we all know that whatever boys can do, girls can do better (Just ask Nicole). Great motion on the ball, beautiful green grass and lovely composition. Looks like a great place to spend the day with family.
