What a week and what a day to end it. I was in a certification class all week and it had to be one of the worse ones I have ever taken. Poorly organized and an instructor that was confrontational to questions. The culmination is that I got very little sleep Thursday night while cramming for the very difficult certification exam of which I won't know if I passed (or not) for a couple of weeks. So getting home... I go to Dulles airport and and find my flight is delayed and I won't be able to make my connecting flight to Austin. After much checking with other ticketing agents and banging on the keyboard it is discovered that I also have a reservation on a similar flight leaving Reagan airport in an hour (I don't know how THAT happened). Delta volunteered to send me in a taxi to Reagan airport so I could catch the flight. The adjoining ticketing agent had a similar situation and so we all piled into a taxi heading for Reagan (45-50 minutes during traffic times). Upon arrival I directly to the ticketing desk, received my tickets and made it through security, all in less than 15 minutes (a new record!) and boarded the flight (yeahhh!). Uneventful flight to Atlanta where I am supposed to continue on to Austin via the same plane. Except now the plane is broken. We sit on the plane for almost 2 hours but we finally take off in our newly repaired plane. Another uneventful flight (thankfully the repairs worked) and we finally get to Austin about 1:00 AM.

So... this picture was was actually taken on July 14 at 1:30 AM while I was driving home from the airport and is a good example why one should not photograph while driving at night.

If it's any consolation, this weekend, I had to wait on a plane for over an hour while they fixed a few seat trays. The AC didn't work either so it was pretty hot.

Oh my word the 'pleasure' of internal travel. I can only sympathise. OK the shot would get hammered in competition but for me you cant summarise the day you had had in a better way than this image

Hope the exams end up getting you the results you want regardless of the teacher

If ever a picture captured "frazzled" this is it. I hope you finally got some sleep.

actually its a good example of why one SHOULD photograph while driving at night !!!!! . love the effect ... some of those lights look almost like weird alien light ppl ..
and after reading your travelling woes all i can say is that how excellent you had your camera with you so that you could capture all those 'wonderful' moments .. lol ... photography can be a great diversion in times of stress i've found .. :):)

Ain't air travel fun? Glad it all ended well. Cool shot and with little sleep and a hectic day at least you're keeping it between the lines. :)
