 Ok so after a long week at work I went to the dog track this evening. I only took a couple of shots and instead concentrated on eating and picking a succession of 3 legged critters (The races ended about an hour and a half ago and I swear one of my tips is still ambling around the course...possibly smoking a cigarette and having a pint)

The track in question is Henlow in Bedfordshire about 25 miles from where I live, I havent been there in about ten years but in that time not too much has changed other than a restaurant has been opened.

Please note the clever border. suiteness did one of these a couple of days ago, I asked her how and she sent me brilliant step by step instructions, so a big thank you to her

Anyway a week that was very long but that did contain some wonderful moments is over. Onwards and upwards to the weekend

Eating 3 legged critters? Haha, must be some sort of food...I hope so :) This is a great shot, I went to the dog track once when I was little & loved the atmosphere of it all. Did Daisy go with you? I guess most people don't think of the race track & little kids going to together, but I enjoyed it. Sounds like you had fun!

this is a great shot, with of course a perfectly lovely border, but what has me smiling the most is your commentary (having a pint!), along with colorcarnival's comments about the possessed black dog (and I completely agree).

Brilliant as always. :) Thanks for the smiles in the past fifteen days.

GREAT action shot, Jon! I love the direct eye contact you got with the dog on the right. Was he yours?

And btw, the border is stunning. Looks like you're a quick learner!

Three legged critters...tips...don't even know what this means lol. wow I am still in the slow lane today...

The more I look at this the more the dog in the back (who is muzzled??) really freaks the heck out of me. He looks possessed. So I can see why the two in front are running for their lives.

As for the photo, it's a great motion capture. Looks like you caught them out of the gate. And the fact that you caught two of them looking at you - the scared leader in front and the possessed one (come on, look at it!) in back - really draws the viewer in.

you are so funny jon .. i love reading your comments .. both on your own work and other ppl's!!!! .. i laughed out loud when i read the bit about the dog still ambling around the course smoking a cigarette and having a pint !!!!!!! ... obviously you didnt win any money for DAY 13!!!! .. figures eh?? being friday the 13th ... altho i'm not the superstitious type .. i'm nore inclined to think things will go well on friday 13th than not .. and if i see a ladder then i'll walk under it .. i check first that a can of paint isnt about to fall of course .. !! .. i think i like to tempt fate along with other things as well !!!!!!
this is a great action shot .. i love the way they're just lunging out'v the wotever it is where they start the race .. they have just started havent they?? . love the one on the rhs the way his ears are flying backwards .. just a great shot .. :):)
