Very impressive for a shot taken from a moving vehicle. I haven't dared try anything like this since I got my dSLR. And with a P&S, I'd only shoot blind (camera in hand and eyes firmly on the road) and hope for the best, so I've never got anything even half as good.

I don't feel so bad knowing that I'm not the only one that dares to take pictures while I'm driving. I do it more than I should.

I am soooo glad I don't have to drive on roads like that for my drive to work. That gives me an idea for possibly tomorrows pic! ;)

hmmmmmm ... left hand drive and unless you were changing lanes i'd guess that you were driving while taking this photograph .. think you will have to join the ranks of those ppl who are not only obsessed with their photography but will go to any lengths to get THAT shot ..
i have been guilty of a similar offense, not once but several times .. not for a while tho after a bit'v a scare .. the scare was when i didnt realise how close the other car was coz i was at 200mm zoom !!!!!!!! ... fortunately i was on a country road .. the fact that i had wandered a bit into the oncoming lane added to the immediate anxiety attack that i experienced ..
i just love driving and i dont particularly like being a passenger .. but because i am also way over the top with my photography i sometimes choose to be a passenger just so i can take photographs ..
to drive and take photographs at the same time can be very exciting, but i'm willing to sacrifice all that for the possibility that i may get an even better shot as a passenger ..
of course that isnt always possible if i'm alone .. then i have the camera ready on the seat beside me, lens cap off, just in case .. :):) .. i know of other dpc ppl who do this sort'v thing .. i wont mention any names .. they know who they are .. !!!!!!!!!

The selective desat works well here! I know that place well; I lived in Glendale several years, then moved to Mt. Wilson Observatory and took the 2 all the time :-)

when I had a longish commute like this, I would put my mind on autopilot and be on my way. sometimes I got home and didn't even remember the drive. That's kinda how this picture looks -- like my mind on auto. :)

Nice processing on this one. The selective desat gives nice moodiness to the highway and is contrasted nicely by the deep colors in the sky.

Nice treatment -- you really have the feeling of the expanse of concrete, and those hills are so Southern California it hurts.

Good work.

I could have titled this "The Road Less Traveled"...Half my drive time is spent getting out of the Downtown area, but this stretch is always good..(for those in LA...the 2 to the 210)...If I dare, I'll try to get a shot of the Downtown drive)

Were you... taking pictures while driving on the freeway? No wonder I'm scared of driving in LA. :P

The scenery here is actually really interesting, especially with your color treatment. Better you than me though -- I don't handle road stress well enough to deal with an LA commute on a daily basis. You are a stronger person than I am.

I love how the de-sat made the yellow stand out on the houses in the background!

Oh you SO should be taking the train. Public Transportation is pretty much nonexistant here. I envy the opportunity to let someone else stress about traffic... and the price of gas ;) Great image, nice desatting.
