OK, I you leave Milton Keynes Central train Station and go straight up the Road, past the huge shopping centre you get to Campbell Park (where the MK4U festival was last weekend) This is just a few yards into the park (because I could not be bothered going further) and looking back on yourself. One the left, the silver building is Xscape, which hosts a 16 screen cinema a whole lot of eating and drinking places and a huge indoor snowdome where you can ski and get frozen at the same time...real snow. Just at the bottom of the shot and 99.99999% obscured by the trees you may just see the wind tunnel where you can experience free fall parachuting (unless you have had a dislocated shoulder :( ) The tall building with the single curved roof is the theatre, the building with the wavy roof contains shops and in the background you can just make out some new build resi that is going up.

Today's photo is brought to you by the I love Milton Keynes society, because for any faults it does have (and it does have some) this is my adopted home town for the last 10 years and I love it. You are more than welcome to come and visit, but be warned even if you come with a cynical attitude (as many do...including myself) you may find you fall in love with the place

Oh and if you are wondering about the title its just the way we sometimes refer to the the city

Sounds like quite a place. Any city that has an indoor ski slope is top notch in my book.

This sounds like a cool place to hang out (snow indoors?!...cool!) I love the beautiful green of the grass & blue of the sky, combined with the silver building it all ties in really nicely! The black border on the top & bottom really adds to it as well...great shot! :)

Looks like a nice area and there's actually something to do there. Nice blues and greens.

This is how you refer to your city - why? There's clearly something I'm missing - oh... Milton Keynes - Milk and Beans haha - I get it now. It's a slow process sometimes.

Anyway - this sounds like a cool place to be. I love how you're showing us your community. In this Gotham City I live in, there is no community to speak of.

great shot jon and great write-up AS USUAL !!!! ... i love the darkness of this and the way the Xscape building looks like some alien space ship beside the more 'normal' structures ... :)

This is truly a beautiful area. And with an invite like that, who wouldn't want to go? I'll just add it to my "to do" list ; )
Very beautiful sky to go with the lush green grass. I can't believe all that "stuff" you mentioned is right there. Very nice.

(and btw, that stretch of road in my pic IS long, lol... )

I see tire tracks in the grass! Were the Fans of Milton Keynes doing donuts at this festival?

The building with the curvy roof is an interesting one and it is too bad the building itself is a little underexposed - I'm curious as to what it looks like.

I can see why you'd like it there, it sounds like Milton Keynes has it all. You are doing a very good tourism job with it - looks like a wonderful place to visit. I'll be sure to make a note of it.

It's great that you have an "I Love Milton Keynes" society. Looking forward to seeing the t-shirts and bumper stickers. ;)

Hey, I didn't think you ever had blue skies there... :-) Seriously, the sky and clouds are gorgeous in this shot! That silver building looks like a big spaceship crouched behind the trees and ready to launch itself into that blue, blue sky... I was wondering about the title, thanks for explaining it!

Very interest architecture. I am happy that you love where you live, it would be terrible to live somewhere you hated. Many people do, or they are indifferent which is just as bad.
