 All of the kind comments I received about the last sunrise shot encouraged me to drag my butt out of bed for another one :-) As always the sky was different this morning, with bands of heavier clouds separated by areas of clear sky with little cloud puffs here and there. I photographed the whole sunrise and got several interesting shots despite the fact that I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes which made their debut in our yard. I'm still itchy...

Unfortunately I don't get a really sharp image with the 300mm lens, but they look okay when reduced in size. It didn't help that I was using my smaller less-steady tripod. I also shot some with a smaller aperture so the trees are more in focus which I like, but they were a bit blurry because of the shaky tripod... I'll be more careful next time!

so nice! my favorite part is the upper right hand corner where that whispy cloud is blending into the sky

I love the smokey clouds, it almost looks like the sun is on fire (which I guess it actually is, haha).

Very moody shot. Almost has a liquid feel to it. I kind of like the blurriness for this particular shot. Adds some interest and a different kind of effect/

LOVE the colors and the sky is awesome!! the trees as you mentioned could be a bit crisper, but yes with a slightly shaky tripod and 300mm lens I completely understand, I have a heavy duty Bogen tripod and still struggle with crisp shots at 300mm as evidenced by my occasional Moon shots. Very dramatic and still a wonderful photo! Well worth getting up early!!

so dramatic and love those amazing colours .. you'll now have to get out'v bed before the sunrise every morning .. coz imagine wot you could be missing if you dont !!

OK I will say lovely but not quite as nice as the last one. The wispy clouds make it look as if you have almost superimposed this sunrise over something (it looks like and eagle to me!!)
