 I almost took a picture of me past out on top of a notebook full of powerpoint slides. Then I decided not to subject you all to that. So outside of the hotel I went and after wandering around for a bit I and ended by the highway. Hmmmm, take a icture of a passing car such that the car is in focus and the bg blurred. I learned a couple of things from this exercise. 1) Have something definitive on the other side of the road so that the blurring is more noticeable. 2) I liked the results better when there was just one car in the picture. 3)Give myself a long enough lead time so that I can match the speed of the car.

good motion panning. i've also found that if you can get a red car or motorcycle, it is even more dramatic (especially if the background is green)
