I had a shot like this in mind all along for this challenge, have been shooting a quite a bit of photos like this the last couple of weeks (when I say like this I mean against the sun) so I wanted to see how the DPC voters would like it. I guess poorly since I have noticed that high key images don´t really do as well here but hopefully I´ll be pleasantly surprised.

Only used ambient lighting for this, the sun is almost directly behind her.

Post processing was not much, raw conversion, used unsharp mask with a low % and high radius to boost local contrast, levels to brighten the midtones in the shot just a tad. Then Used gaussian blur to create the softfocus effect, the first time I have ever used softfocus since I really detest it usually, kindof like I detest selective desaturation. Well, gotta try it sometime and I figured why not now. Only wish I could clone out that flare spot on her stomach but other than that 100% happy with the look of this image.

Hehe, funny you should say this as it´s probably the least sharpened photo I have sent in all year, but yeah, I mean a 85mm prime and a Canon 5D does yield some pretty sharp photos to begin with... :)

Extremely underrated for such an excellent shot, guess the voters care more about highlights than they do about atmosphere.

Smells of an Elsapo ... pretty, but a little too blown out on the left.

i think that this image is gorgeous. i'm sure you'll get hung on the cross because it's over exposed, but it's obvious that it's done purposely. love it!! 8

very nice high key photo. Just a couple of constructive thoughts from someone who doesn't really know anything....I don't mind the blown sky, but I would have liked to been able to see the flower in her right hand. The bleeding of harsh light onto her face is distracting. I would like to have seen more space in front of her (crop closer on the right) for her to gaze into....and maybe a little more space overall around her.

The photo has great impact though and negates a lot of those nitpicky things above....8

I like how you used the overexposure to your advantage. I think it really adds to the dream state of the photo. Great ph oto. My only complaint would be the lens glare you have righ tin the center of her stomach.

Normally, the washed out/overexposed background would be a negative, but here it does give a dreamy impression that, combined with the model's beauty, is appealing. Nice job!

Contrast is a bit too sharp, but photo/model is very pretty.

seems a bit over exposed. That does not really enhance the "dreamlike" quality for me.

Very good photograph. I like the backlight, shallow depth of field, and choice of dress (color and dots). Model is beautiful and projects a natural joy.

Think the high key effect is a little over the top. Just a tad, but its my opinion. Otherwise a lovely shot and what a gorgeous model.

not a can of the processing here with it so bright right on her face. I realize you were going for a dreamy effect but I find it over the top. THe shot is beautiful as well as your model.
