 Well, I actually took this yesterday BUT, to be fair, it was the start of my today :) I work nights :)

I am always amazed at the sunsets on this mountain and this one made me stop my car, jump out, open my trunk, whip out my camera, and quickly take a picture. It took me too long to get the camera though and the sun (which was peeking between 2 layers of clouds) dissapeared on me rather quickly :(

This was the only shot I got (lucky I suppose) and it came out just like I wanted it to. Post process included a simple shadow/highlight and a colour layer to bring out all those beautiful colours in the sky :) oh, and I cloned out 2 bothersome cars on the road because their headlights were running amok :) hehe

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did :)

Terrific shot -- good thing you moved as fast as you did! I like the inclusion of the telephone pole and wires, they somehow add to the photo.

WOW - great capture! And you even had at least a decent background. Everytime I'm on the road and see an awesome sunset everything else looks awful.

I think I hear the church chior!!! Great capture, and really nice clone job. And good thing too, it would've taken away from those amazing clouds and light.

One of the many reasons I decided to live in Tennessee. We get astonished from time to time. Is this Dayton? Or is it somewhere nearby. My favorite place to go used to be the back of Walden's Ridge, as it backs into the rear valley of Pocket.

OH MY WORD what an absolutely stunning sunset, the shot stopped me in my tracks so goodness knows what it would have been like to witness at first hands. Wonderful irridescent shimmering colours

Wonderful sunset, and it just proves that a sunset doesn't have to be in screaming tones of heliotrope, orange, and mustard yellow to be beautiful. Good work and a good eye.
