Yes, yes, I am expecting a validation request on this one. It was a hassle to get the positioning right, but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
The procedure:
1. Set up black background and lighting.
2. Turn off lights.
3. Put on hat and get blanket ready to hold up.
3. Trip timer on camera.
4. Put on stupid face and hold blanket over everything but my neck and face.
5. Exposure starts, I pop flash with wireless trigger in my hand.
6. Drop hat, blanket, tilt head the other way, and put on annoyed face.
7. Pop flash again.
Processing was decent, mostly to smooth the transition between my two necks (and clone out a bit of shirt). A lot of cloning, dodging, and burning in that area. The rest was standard curves and everything. Burned the background to bring it all the way to black without losing my hair and shadow detail.
Prediction... 6.3ish?
Oh yeah, this is my first entry with the 20D. Lets hope it is a good one.

Nice. The kind of pic ive been trying to take since I got my remote control for the canon. Good use of the flash, exposure and layer masks here. |
