This morning, around 5AM, I was awakened by my cat Cosima yelling loudly. So of course I yelled at her to shut up, but she was unimpressed.

Finally, I stumbled out of bed only to find Cosima merrily batting at a scorpion.

What a good cat! I hope she wakes me up when there's a house fire, too.

First I covered the scorpion with a handy vase, but then I got a glass from the kitchen because I want to see what I'm dealing with.

Am just uploading a better shot of Guido - yes, I named him. The maintenance guy came and whisked him away. Good bye, Guido.

I am SO glad we don't have those things were I live. The cat is definitely a keeper.

The carpet makes a really cool background for the beastie, this is cool! Yuck, scorpions are creepy!! My cats have gone after scorpions a couple of times, first when I lived at the Mt. Wilson Observatory, and then here in New Mexico. No one was hurt, including the scorpions were captured and released FAR from my house :-)

And I thought it was bad when we had a bat in the house! Good job capturing (literally) Guido.

My cats only get to chase crickets. Looking at your beastie, I have to say I prefer crickets!
