Excellent composition, a little blurred down the bottom, but very good. 8-Martin

Excellent composition. Is the fly really drinking? 10 - LanSnake

Nice photo, well executed and appealing to look at. I like the way you used a large portion of white background as it makes the photo easier on my eyes. I think a bottle green background would look good as well, to go with the damn fly (I hate those things!). Well done.

Beautiful shot! Was the fly planned or an accident? Either way it is unique and makes the subject stand out.

Composition - good, fly detracts imho
Technical Aspects - quite good (incl fly)
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality – high
Other suggestions – a drop of juice would enhance this.

The fly is a distraction for me, a nice celan photo other than that. DOF is a bit shallow, blurring the bottom of the frame.

Great use of negative space! Wrong week though :(
Anyway, I think this is a great photo. I like the good focus on the orange and the fly. Its good how you have included the fly, but only as a secondary thing. It is so easy to accidently make the fly the main focal point but you have suceeded well in avoiding that. 8.

I love it - Great detail and color. not only does it meet the challenge, but it meets next weeks challenge as well. Are you going to re-shoot this for next week? / of course you'll have to pay the fly for a second shoot. What does a fly charge for a shoot like this? Did you find him in the window and put him here? This is incredible, good luck, Gotcha 9

Excellent shot. Great use of negative space. Focus and lighting is about as good as it gets. 9 ~indigo997

The fly adds interest to the photo. Also, there is WAY too much space at the top. I'd drop this shot, but it's definitely a keeper!

Very nice indeed....Most of the time fly's on fruit is a kiss of death in shots like this..I work in advertising and one of the things pounded into my head was the negative connotations. If you do add this kind of element you really needed to get the fly and orange in more focus/detailed to help the poster quality of the shot.

Still very ambitious and well done...8...hokie

This is truly a magic moment. Great color! Could only have been better if you asked the fly to please be still while you adjusted to get a closer shot with more depth...10

was this planned? I wonder if it didn't just happen while you were photographing your "planned submission" Regardless of how it came to be, I loveit!!

Hope that didn't get eaten after the shot =)

I like this. Bet that fly didn't drink too much, so there was probably some left to share! Hahah. Good work (focus, etc), and I like the composition of it as well. karmat
