July 4th:
This pretty much sums up my 4th of July...stuck inside because of the rain. It's been raining for over 2 weeks straight, I'm hoping the photos over the next 46 days will involve no rain at all! :)

I'm in Western Oklahoma, I know where your coming from, it never rains on the 4th but this year it did! We have had and are still getting rain and cloudy skys day and night...it is beginning to get very old here! I must admit the cool temps are welcome but the incessent rain and gloom do take there toll...Nice slice of life!!

we've had heaps of rain too in the last month .. its been the most rain in winter that we've had in over 10 years .. that follows the worst drought on record ... when they talk about australia as being a land of droughts and flooding rains they arent kidding .. that's a reference to a poem by an australian called dorothea mackellar ... if you want to read it this is it .. my country
anyway this photograph of yours looks like it could almost be in a suburb of sydney .. same trees, same houses, same cars .. :):)

edit .. realised link didnt open so i'm putting it in again .. :)

That's interesting about the rain. We have not had any good soakings for so long. The grass is brown and dry and the creek is empty. I feel bad for the animals running around here. Hope you get some sunshine soon!

Oh nooooo. The only time I get to see sunshine at the moment is in the photos posed from the non UK memebrs at DPC. This shot just sums up what the last five weeks have been like in Milton Keynes

I'm sorry, but I had to laugh a bit when I saw this. I know the feeling. We haven't had that much rain, but enough to be ready for it to come again Some Other Day!!

Wish you could blow some over this way. You all have flooding and we've got fuel temps of 115 degrees with 10 percent humidity to make for a scary wildfire season.

This is a nice atmospheric shot. I like how it makes me feel the bluesy kind of rainy-holiday feeling.

Kelly!!! So good to see you! I know we will both learn much in the next 45 days :) These side challenges are usually pretty good for that. I am sorry it was raining on your 4th :(

Okay, down to the technicals. The main thing I see here is that you didn't do a last sharpen in post and the image is small. Try 650x650. Your composition is good in that the tree there on the right grabs your eye and pulls it right down to the wet sidewalk. Saturation is good. Overall, a nice photo that conveys exactly what you wanted it to. Rain on the 4th of July :)

I know. I went out to the Lake Austin - Town Lake dam today and took some pictures. The amount of water is incredible. Thankfully, it cleared up long enough for the fireworks in Zilker.

I would be happy to swap with you. Today it's 116 here (yes, degrees Fahrenheit) and there is not even a cloud in the sky. But I guess the grass is always greener...

Nice photo - and nice and green, too! :o)

At least it is green! It is hot, dry and windy here in NM, and the thought of the neighbors setting off their fireworks is a little creepy :-) Hope you enjoy your day anyway!!
