 Bird in the Bird House at National Zoo during DC GTG.

Ahhh... FINALLY identified this bird (after about 1 1/2 hours searching the Internet)! It's native to Tanzania - especially Tarangire.

Love the glint in the eye and his body language ... he looks wistful in this shot.

Thank you for finding the name of this bird; you saved me a lot of research time :-) I have lots of pix of him, too. Guess I should process them one of these days, huh?

Nice shot, I could always look at a photo of a bird. Canary? I think you should dodge it some more to reveal it's body some more. Good find.
